In Birdsville

Before and after the Bash, the Birdsville population swells from about 300 to 10,000. During the Big Red Bash and the weeks surrounding it, accommodation options in Birdsville town are limited, so it's worth looking at your options and planning in advance:

  • Birdsville Caravan Park (powered & unpowered camping sites) Get in early, the caravan park often books out.
  • Free 'Western Common' camping area opposite the Bronco Branding Yards (no facilities). See the Town Map for location details.

There’s no hotel or cabin accommodation available in Birdsville during the Bash, so bring your camping gear or caravan so you can be self contained.

At Bashville

Most Big Red Bash patrons camp at the Big Red Bash site (Bashville) during the event. Camping is included in the price of your ticket and is available for the nights of Tuesday 5th to Friday 8th July (or earlier if you buy an early entry camping pass) Everyone must depart by midday on Saturday 9th July.

At Bashville there’s plenty of great, level, two wheel drive accessible camping space near the concert area that is suitable for caravans, campervans and tents. We provide composting toilets, and there will be food vendors on site, however you’ll need to be self sufficient for most other requirements. See Camping Overview and Facilities for further details.

If you don’t plan to camp at Bashville, please read some important information about Day Tripping from Birdsville.

Remember, you must exchange your e-ticket in Birdsville Town before you head to Bashville. See Ticket Collection for details.
