Bushfire Support Ticket Packages

Like everyone in Australia we have been shocked, devastated and saddened by the scale of the Bushfire crisis, and the impact it has had on the lives of so many people and communities.

Each July the Big Red Bash brings people together from nearly every town and community across every state of Australia. As a result many of our past patrons and volunteers have been impacted by the bushfires as have many of those who are planning to attend or volunteer this year. Many of our crew are also in impacted communities, and have been involved in various roles at the frontline of the crisis.

We've given thought as to how we can raise funds and although we’ve been sold out for some time we have worked on making room for 25 more families or couples, and as a result will be selling 25 Big Red Bash Bushfire Support Ticket Packages with 100% of the proceeds being donated to the Bushfire Crisis.

The packages are priced at $2000 and they include:

  • 2 x adult tickets
  • Unlimited child and youth tickets (for children and youth 17 years and younger, at time of event, attending with the adult ticket holders)
  • 2 day early entry pass
The packages also include these special extra benefits:
  • Prime allocated campsite near the front
  • Big Red Bash festival poster signed by the artists

Big Red Bash will also ADD TO THESE FUNDS by MATCHING $ for $ out of its OWN FUNDS, taking the TOTAL donation we are looking to make from this initiative to $100,000. That’s a total of $4000 donated for every Bushfire Support family package sold. This donation will be divided between the Red Cross and The Salvation Army Bushfire Appeals each of which are focused on supporting the victims of the crisis.

This is a time to do what Australians do best and pull together to support each other during a crisis when so many are hurting. It’s important that we show our support, and we feel fortunate to be able help in this small way.

We acknowledge the amazing efforts of our tireless emergency services personnel and agencies, as well as the many Australians providing whatever support they can to their fellow citizens.

However there is still a long hot summer to get through and we know the hardest time is still ahead for many, who will need to be supported through the recovery and rebuilding phase long after the fires have gone out and it’s no longer in the media, and we hope that the funds we raise will help during these difficult and challenging times.

Allocation of the Bushfire Support Ticket Packages

As the demand for Bushfire Support Ticket Packages is expected to exceed the allocation of packages available, to give everyone an equal and fair chance at accessing these packages, we have chosen to manage them via a ballot entry system. This means every person interested in securing one of these packages will have the same chance at succeeding, as the selection process will be completely random. It means you're not relying on being the fastest person to purchase tickets, no setting alarms for ticket release times and internet speed or access is not a factor in determining your chance of accessing these packages.

We will be accepting entries into a ballot from now until 5pm Tuesday 14th January 2020 (AEDST). You should only enter the ballot if you are prepared to make payment in full for your Bushfire Support Ticket Package by Thursday 16th January 2020 should you be a ballot winner. Terms and conditions of ballot entry can be found below, which you will need to agree to when you submit your ballot entry. Failure to comply with any of the terms and conditions of entry may result in forfeiting your ballot entry.

Ballot Entry Terms & Conditions

1. One entry per person.

2. You are entering a ballot to purchase a Bushfire Support Ticket Package which includes 2 Adult tickets, unlimited child and youth tickets (for children and youth 17 years and younger, at the time of event, attending with the adult ticket holders), 2 day early entry pass, prime allocated campsite near the front, and a Big Red Bash festival poster signed by the artists. The aforementioned inclusions are valid for the 2020 Birdsville Big Red Bash and are not transferrable to future years.

3. When entering the ballot, you can choose whether you are entering for 1 or 2 Bushfire Support Ticket Packages. This is to allow entrants who would like to attend with another couple or family. Each package is a cost of $2000, so if you enter the ballot for 2 packages, the total cost is $4000 and is payable by the ballot winner as per below.

4. Ballot entries close at 5pm Tuesday 14th January 2020 (AESDT).

5. A random number generator will be used to select the ballot winners of the 25 packages available, and ballot winners will be contacted via phone and email on Wednesday 15th January 2020. Ballot winners will be provided with information to confirm their details and make payment of their packages by 5pm Thursday 16th January 2020.

6. Ballot winners are required to agree to The Big Red Bash Ticketing Terms and Conditions 2020 upon payment of the Bushfire Support Ticket Packages.

8. Any ballot winner who fails to make payment by the deadline will forfeit their entitlement to purchase a package.

9. Should any initial ballot winners forfeit their entitlement to purchase a package, a subsequent round of ballot draws will take place on Friday 17th January 2020 and again, ballot winners will be contacted via phone and email and will be provided with information to confirm their details and make payment of their packages by 5pm Saturday 17th January 2020.

10. Additional ballot draws will continue to take place in the same manner as above until 25 packages have been purchased.
