Leave Bashville Campground early and camp in Birdsville Thursday night!

An Early Exit Pass, allowing you to pack up & leave the Bashville campground on Thursday afternoon.

Once you’re out of the campground you’re free to leave straight away or park in Day Parking and head off after the music.

We strongly discourage early exit pass holders from driving any further than Birdsville town on Thursday night since outback driving at night is riskier than day driving. Camp the night in Birdsville and continue your journey early Friday morning - you’ll still be well ahead of the rush! See Outback Road Conditions for more information.

 

Full Details

• Passes cost $15 per vehicle and 100% of this fee is donated to RFDS
  
• Early exit is allowed from the campsite to day parking between 2pm and 5pm on Thursday 9th July
• No camping in day parking on Thursday 9th July. You must be off-site by 10pm
• Passes are available online from 9am 11th May 2020 (AEST). The link to purchase will be posted on this page.
• There’s a limited quantity of passes available.

What facilities are open in Birdsville on Thursday night?
Birdsville caravan park will be open until late Thursday 9th July to allow entry into the overflow camping area
Service stations will close at normal times, however they will re-open at approx 6am on Friday morning.

Why do I have to pay for my pass?
Managing the number of vehicles at night on outback roads is a key safety consideration for this remote event, and we work closely with Birdsville emergency services, council and police on this issue. For safety reasons we can only release a limited quantity of Early Roll Out Passes and the small fee (100% donated to RFDS) helps to ensure that only those who genuinely intend to leave early purchase a pass.
